GRADING SYSTEM
Realizing that the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law is a graduate professional school, and noting the school’s
commitment to promote quality education and academic excellence,
no regular student enrolled at the Law School is allowed to obtain a “D” grade in any of the
courses offered at the Law School.
Grades are reflected on the student report in letters with the following values:
GRADE | VALUE IN POINTS | DESCRIPTION | GRADE POINTS |
A | 90 – 100 | Excellent | 4 |
B | 80-89 | Good | 3 |
C | 70-79 | Satisfactory Pass | 2 |
D | 60-69 | Unsatisfactory Pass (repeat) | 1 |
F | 0-59 | Failure | -0- |
I | No Point | Incomplete | Not Applicable |
AB | No Point | Absent from Examination | Not Applicable |
DR | No Point | Dropped | Not Applicable |
W | No Point | Official Withdrawal | Not Applicable |
Except that he/she earns one point, a student with a grade of “D” must repeat the course in which the “D”
was earned. Where a “D” grade is earned in a two semester course, the student shall not be allowed to register
for the second part of the course until the “D” grade is removed.
