COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course introduces the subject of international organizations, their role in the maintenance of international peace and their influence with technical, social and cultural cooperation. It distinguishes international organizations regulated by international laws as opposed to those being regulated by municipal laws.
Emphasis is placed on how IO’s and their subsidiary bodies are created, their structure, capacity, functions and role in the international community. Additionally this course details membership, denunciation of membership, privileges and immunities of IO’s and permanent or temporary representations to IOs.
